Minimum Distance Routing
This video shows how Google Maps can be used to find route with optimum distance. Normally all navigation apps will show optimum route based on time but we are interested in optimum route based on distance. So by using Google Maps intelligently we can achieve what we want.
What is total distance of drive?
The actual distance of the drive will depend on the route taken by crews. It is estimated that crews will be around 4,000 kilometres between start and finish.
What is the prize money?
There is no prize money announced as of now. The organising team is working hard to raise sponsorship money and may announce cash prize for overall winning crews. What is location of checkpoints?
The intermediate checkpoints would be automatically revealed on competitors map once they take a start from Kanyakumari. Till that time the location of checkpoints is secret.
Will my fee increase if I get sponsorship for my entry?
Short answer – No Unlike other events the entry fee is not impacted by your getting sponsorship from any automotive or non automotive brand. The entry fee per slot for a car with two crew is same. No political sponsorship will be allowed. In case you have any doubts please check with organisers.
Will having 4WD vehicle be beneficial?
In our opinion there is no benefits either way. You should have vehicle that had long fuel range and should be comfortable to drive hour after hour after hour. Also we do not expect you to encounter too much slippery terrain beyond the usual seasonal rain.
