Apurba & Julin Comp #19

Gumball 2021 Koteshvar to Kaho. 4000 kms of non stop endurance drive across India.

A dream come true event for me says Dr. Apruba.

Driving was my passion since I took the roads at the age of 18. From my childhood days I love Rally’s and Car Races and always felt that one day I would participate. Thanks to my younger brother Julin Boruah who shares the same passion as I do given me the opportunity to participate in the event.

Julin is also associated with SAVE RHINO FOUNDATION in Assam and doing a tremendous work in raising the population of Rhino in Assam.

On the event I would like to say that it was a well organised event and well managed by one and only Sudev Sir and his dedicated team who worked with utmost sincerity throughout the event.

The route and check points was terrific as it covered the entire breadth of the country from Run of Kutch and historic places in Gujarat, Desert and historic places of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Bihar through the tea gardens of West Bengal and Assam upto the Himalaya’s in Arunachal Pradesh. It depicts India’s Unity in Diversity.

Gumball is not rallying, it’s not TSD, it’s not reaching but it is different. It tests the endurance of the drivers and their sense of direction. It is not only continuous driving but you have to navigate also. Apart from this you have to be a good camera man as well as a good videographer. Fortunately Julin was very good in making short videos and taking good photographs. The most enduring and toughest part was the drive from Parasuram Kund to Kaho in the mountains of Arunachal Pradesh.

The theme of the event was perfect “ONE NATION ONE PEOPLE” and it commemorated with India’s 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahoutsav. My heartfelt thanks to the organisers, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

All in all a very memorable, inspiring and exciting event and looking forward to participate Gumball 2022 (D to D)

Until then Safe Drive and God bless you all
